First-ever chicken nugget sent into space by UK supermarket giant: Watch video
Iceland Foods, a British supermarket giant, marked its 50th anniversary by sending the first-ever chicken nugget into space.
For all chicken nugget lovers who desire an out of the world nugget, there is literally one now. Iceland Foods, a British supermarket giant, marked its 50th anniversary by sending the first-ever chicken nugget into space. The retailer said that the sole idea behind this unique move was to show its customers that their products are out of this world quite literally. The nugget was launched into space from Deeside, North Wales, a location close to the companies head office.
"What better way to show that our products are out of this world than by sending one of our customer favorites into space," Iceland Foods said.
The retailer documented the entire journey of the chicken-nugget, from its launch to its entrance into space and landing on the earth, and shared it on their official Twitter handle. The retailer wrote: “We don’t know who needs to hear this, but we sent the first-ever chicken nugget into space today. Why? We have no idea, but it was out of this world!”
Iceland Foods collaborated with Sent into Space, a team of experts in the field of stratospheric adventure, for the chicken nugget space mission. The experts created the perfect equipment for the nugget to travel in. The nugget was able to travel into space with the help of a meteorological weather balloon filled with a gas lighter than air to carry the nugget up to the stratosphere.
