WATCH: A video of plane pulling off crazy emergency landing on Canada’s busy highway
The pilot made an emergency landing on a busy highway full of cars in Canada’s Quebec city after suffering a critical malfunction. But he managed to perfectly merge his plane into traffic without injuring anyone.
In what could be called as a miracle on a highway, a small plane made a slick emergency landing in Canada’s Quebec city after it suffered a critical malfunction. But the pilot managed to perfectly merge his plane into traffic on Highway 40 in Quebec City on Thursday.
The dramatic videos were captured by motorists. The light Piper Cherokee aircraft was filmed flying low above the road – which was packed with cars despite the coronavirus restrictions – seeking a place to land.
In addition to vehicles, the road was filled with other obstacles, including several gantries and an overpass. The pilot showed perfected merging skills and landed right between the cars on the highway without hitting anything.
No one was injured in the incident, which took place near Jean-Lesage International Airport, where the plane apparently wanted to land, the CBC reported.
Many motorists did not seem very impressed by the sight and continued driving as if nothing out of the ordinary had happened.
The local police said the aircraft had suffered a critical mechanical malfunction, forcing the pilot to carry out the daredevil stunt.a
