Vikram to act in Kamal Haasan film
Actor Vikram is playing the role of Karikalan in Kamal Hassan's historical film Ponniyin Selvan.
Vikram told Asiaville Tamil that he is playing the role of Karikalan in the historical film Ponniyin Selvan.
Actor Vikram, who started his cinematic journey with Kamal Haasan, was noticed by the megastar when he went to dub for a small part. Today he is starring in a role that is more gray than black and white. But he welcomes it. "There will always be power in playing a negative character.
Seeing my pairing on the screen will also be a surprise. The film is a ‘one-day’ story."
This story was written for Kamal Haasan. But he recommended that Vikram do it. "Meera complements my performance in the film. The fight scenes of the film are done by Jules, a fight director from France. We shot the whole picture in Malaysia. Rajesh watched every scene as director.
Many have asked if I will co-star with Kamal Haasan. When that happens it will be great. I have spoken Malay for this film. In my cinematic career so far, I have done a lot of roles. The film that affected me physically and mentally was Alien. I struggled to get into three characters and change them. Character is the hardest to play in all films - Pithamagan, Samurai, Divine Mother.
Now, my son Dhruv has come to act. After learning the work of cinema, he told me that he was going to act one day.
Myy wish is that Dhruv should choose the right pictures and set his own course. There are few romance stories in Tamil cinema right now, so I hope Aditya Verma makes a good film for Dhruv.
The number of biographical pictures is increasing now. I am very much looking forward to the Karna film."
Vikram’s new film is due to come out on July 19th.
