Govt forms panel to look to concerns of bank mergers, strike called off

Bank officers' union today called off its proposed two day stike which was due to begin on Thursday. The strike "deferment" came after government assurance of "reconsidering" the modalities and feasibility of the proposed bank mergers which was to come into effect from April 1, 2020.
