This announcement by the BJP president has left Twitter raging. Netizens raised an massive stink over the statement, with some even comparing this statement with a Nazi-like ideology.
The Citizenship Amendment Bill, this NRC promise, are all manifestations of RSS's evil logic of a "Hindu motherland". They want to reduce the idea of Indianness to descent & religion, erasing all other faiths, cultures & identities [1/3] https://t.co/UhHgsTUUlF— Asaduddin Owaisi (@asadowaisi) April 11, 2019

Is Amit Shah threatening a mass exodus of all Atheists, Muslims, Christians, Parsis, Jews, Agnostics from India?
This could cause riots among millions of people as NRC is a heavily flawed process of determining who is an "infiltrator" https://t.co/5OAFeSWRSY

If this is not communal I don’t know what is. If this is not an appalling display of division I don’t know what is. If this is not the politics of hate I don’t know what is. Is this India? Or is the very idea of secular India being hi-jacked? pic.twitter.com/Ccol9ip4ha— Pooja Bhatt (@PoojaB1972) April 11, 2019

The Kerala Christian Forum has demanded an apology from the BJP president for this statement.
Both the NRC and the Citizenship Amendment Bill (CAB) are a big part of the BJP’s manifesto. While the NRC is still in the process of implementation in the state of Assam, the CAB was passed in the Lok Sabha but lapsed, as it could not be ratified by the Rajya Sabha.
