A complaint has been lodged in the case at the local police station in Godhra, Gujarat.
Three Muslim boys have been assaulted for refusing to say "Jai Shri Ram" in Godhra, Gujarat, news reports said. They were attacked by six people who have not been identified.
Complainant Siddiqi Bhagat alleged that men on two motorbikes stopped his 17-year-old son Sameer and his friends Salman Ghiteeli and Sohail Bhagat on Thursday night while returning home. Siddiqi Bhagat has filed an FIR in Godhra police station.
Threats to kill
"The men asked my son and his friends to chant 'Jai Shri Ram'. When he refused, he was beaten up. One struck Sameer on the forehead with a chain and another hit Salman. Before leaving, they threatened them saying that if they saw them again in the area, they would kill them."
Police inspector HK Rathwa said, "Sameer and his friends were taken to the civil hospital by the locals to get their injuries treated. We have registered an FIR against six unknown people." Rathwa said that incidents of attack on minority community are happening in many places all over the country.
