Tech and science stories, books and videos of the week
The stories that will help you get a glimpse of events that happened in the week.
This week was expected to be the one devoted to Apple but after the launch of iPhone 11, many are wondering if there is really anything new on Apple's new device. Another constant trend is climate change, for good reason - every day, there seems to be a new disaster. The latest is this report of another fire in Indonesia’s forest.
We also had some good innovation this week. For example, we discovered the invention of a device that turns carbon di-oxide into fuels. Oh, how good it would be if we could find a way to fix the increasing amount of carbon dioxide that is causing many so problems, including global warming.
The stress of living in this new world can lead us to mood altering substances, and nicotine has been something people chose to use. An alternative to nicotine use and addiciton was to use E-cigarettes, until recently. Many of us chose them, rather than succumb to the toxic combination of nicotine and tar in cigarettes. But, sadly, these devices are also causing a mysterious disease that can be understood about here.
Speaking of health, in case you want to know if we can biologically increase our lifespan, Dacvid Sinclair might have an answer for you. Listen to his talk with Joe Rogen in the video below.
If you are not satisfied with the information you got from this hour long chat (Really, now?), then check out his book "Lifespan: Why We Age—and Why We Don't Have To" that will provide you more in-depth knowledge on the topic.
We are creating so much information (or simply data), that storage is now becoming a concern. How many more data centers will we need?
China is one of the countries with the greatest number of data centers, and if you don't believe us, check the amount of energy it consumes to store our data! So, what if we could have a device that could store all the data of YouTube (and other platforms too) in a teaspoon? Yeah, sounds crazy, right? But the answer was always within us! DNA storage might bring a revolution to data storage.
We all love travelling and the dream is to earn while travelling. That's where vlogging and YouTube comes. What if you only do a few videos a month, and it gets millions of views, and you become a sensation? Meet Jennelle Eliana, who might influence many girls to go on solo journeys. But, here's our advisory - while travelling solo, make sure that you care about nature and don't litter around.
If you need more inspiration on why to care about nature and climate read "The Nature Fix – Why Nature Makes us Happier, Healthier, and More Creative" that might motivate you to be more careful.
Speaking of money, bitcoin or other digital currency systems are emerging fast. But, sometimes it gets shady! Like when a billion bitcoin transaction disappeared.
Anyways, none of this is going to matter for long, as new reports suggest that the Sun, like any other star, is going to die and convert into either a neutron star or a black hole.
Black hole reminds us of a new discovery that provides more credit to Einstein's General Theory of Relativity. The theory suggested that black holes emit different frequencies of gravitational waves and scientists have detected these recently.
And on that happy note, time to time travel, will see you next week! Zooooom..blup.
