Sunil Chhetri India's best player in FIFA 20 Mobile's Indian Super League
The Indian Super League is now part of Electronic Arts' mobile version of the big-selling video game FIFA
The dreaded wait for some Indian representation is finally over! The Indian Super League has made its way to Electronic Art's football video game FIFA and fans are struggling to contain their excitement. Indian captain and country's all-time top-scorer Sunil Chhetri tops the ratings for Indian contingent in the game with a score of 78 while FC Goa forward Ferran Corominas is the best-rated player of the league with 81.
Sadly, the addition of the ISL is limited to the mobile version of the game, and hardcore gamers will have to wait a little longer for the league to hit the console/PC versions. But the addition into the 'FIFA clan' should be considered a big boost to the fast-growing Indian Super League.
From ISL:— FIFA Mobile (@EAFIFAMOBILE) November 19, 2019
Sunil Chhetri [LW] – 78 OVR
Coro [ST] – 81 OVR
From Liga I:
Omrani Billel [ST] – 79 OVR
Florinel Coman [LW] – 83 OVR
Within minutes, the gamelords of the country and football fans were sharing screenshots of their favourite players and teams from the game. Many reported glitches, with some claiming the pictures of players were missing.
Sunil Chhetri has interestingly been given the designation of a left winger, something his Bengaluru FC Coach Carles Cuardat seems to agree with the Indian captain occupying a wide role in the early games on the on-going Indian Super League. Despite shifting to a more central role in the recent years, Sunil's major exploits have come from a wide forward's position which perhaps explain EA's decision to grant him the LW tag. India's most prolific scorer has a (starting) sprint speed of 91 and shooting score of 83 which would have certainly brought a smile on the 35-year-old's face.
Fiji forward Roy Krishna, who lit up the A-League in the last few seasons, was however just given a rating of 71 but with the game allowing players to be trained to superior ratings, it is not something that should upset the ATK forward so much. NorthEast United striker Asamoah Gyan has a point lesser than Krishna while Hyderabad FC's Bobo also has a score of 70.
First Impressions: The game and the graphics can bother you especially if you are not used to FIFA Mobile and opened it only for checking out the Indian Super League. There is nothing wrong with the gameplay per say, it was glitch-free on the three mobile phones that we tried (iOS and Android), but the poor graphics gives your the same feeling of playing with an Indian national team in FIFA 2002. Business-wise the move made sense for Electronic Arts as India is a large consumer of mobile games but they will have to try harder to get the football lovers hooked. According to Statista, the market value of the gaming industry in India was around 62 billion Indian rupees in 2019 and was estimated to go up to over 250 billion rupees by 2024.
