Ten years on, Sri Lankan Tamils fight for their homeland in Mullaitivu
Nearly 10 years after the civil war, Sri Lankan Tamils are still fighting to get back their homeland.
The Sri Lankan military continues to control and occupy land in the Tamil heartland of Mullaithivu, forcing families to remain displaced. Families in Keppapulavu have been protesting against the army since March 2017. The protesters have reached out to several international bodies, including the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, but the army is yet to step back.
