Rahul Gandhi captions pictures of Army dogs doing Yoga as New India; trolled
"The only things you ever make are mistakes and more mistakes", one user tweeted.
Congress president Rahul Gandhi kicked up a storm on Friday when he captioned pictures of Army dogs doing Yoga as 'New India'.
New India. pic.twitter.com/10yDJJVAHD— Rahul Gandhi (@RahulGandhi) June 21, 2019
This picture, which doesn't say much about what Gandhi actually meant, has not gone down with the netizens. From BJP leaders to common Twitter users. people are calling out Gandhi for insulting Indian Army, its elite Dog unit and the international Yoga Day.
The party recently faced huge defeat in the Lok Sabha elections. Gandhi himself lost his family's bastion Amethi to the BJP's Smriti Irani, though he won Wayanad seat with a huge margin. Opponents are claiming that the Congress chief has yet not learned from his mistakes.
This was probably the cutest most adorable part of Yoga day but count on you @RahulGandhi to mock it. Pretty much sums up your tone deaf election campaign. Hopeless.— Rupa Subramanya (@rupasubramanya) June 21, 2019
The dogs are more loyal, more smarter & more deshBhakt than you Mr Rahul. And as far Yoga is concerned “Tumhari buss ki nahi hai”— Sumit kadel (@SumitkadeI) June 21, 2019
*There is no way Rahul Gandhi can make things worse for himself right now*— Shiv Aroor (@ShivAroor) June 21, 2019
Not sure of what @RahulGandhi problem with the Army’s dog squad doing Yoga is. The Indian Army’s dogs are highly trained and very valuable companions of soldiers both in peace time and during combat. Who is he mocking? The jawans or the dogs? Unless the joke is on him. https://t.co/k8aRGV2xI2— Rahul Kanwal (@rahulkanwal) June 21, 2019

Mostly, the joke is on you.
It remains to be seen if the Congress party offers any explanation regarding this tweet, but until then, let's just say that Gandhi has shot himself in the foot.
