Here's what government is doing to deal with coronavirus
Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal said people arriving from foreign countries are being screened at airports.
The Centre and the Delhi government are working in close coordination to deal with coronavirus, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal said on Monday. His comments came after a review meeting with Union Health Minister Harsh Vardhan on the preparedness for COVID-19. Lieutenant Governor Anil Baijal, mayors of the Municipal Corporations of Delhi and senior officials of various departments were in attendence.
The CM said people arriving from foreign countries are being screened at airports. So far, over 40 coronavirus cases have been reported in India.
A campaign will be run to make people aware about the preventive measures to contain the spread of the disease, Kejriwal said. The Delhi has already government ordered DTC and cluster buses, metro and hospitals to be disinfected on a regular basis as a precautionary measure to deal with the novel coronavirus.
Earlier, the Chief Minister had said that healthy people need not wear mask and there was no need to stock up masks at homes either. He had also urged people to wash their hands frequently with soap and water.
