Kawasaki W800 STREET launched at Rs 7,99,000 in India
The Kawasaki W800 STREET comes with a 773cc vertical twin engine and is expected to be available by mid-August.
Kawasaki has added one more bike to its retro line-up of motorcycles. The Japanese company has launched the Kawasaki W800 STREET in India. It comes with the ex-showroom price of INR 7,99,000. A limited number will be produced in the first batch and customers will be getting their bikes by mid-August.
The bike’s design is inspired by the company's iconic retro W1 motorcycle. The Kawasaki W800 has been powered by a 773 cc vertical twin engine. The fuel-injected SOHC engine is mated with a 5-speed gearbox and provides 47.5 hp at 6,500 rpm and 62.9 Nm of torque at 4,800 rpm.
If you look at the power delivery it is low as compared to what a 700 cc motorcycle should provide. To give you an example, the popular Duke 390 that comes with a 373 cc engine provides 43.5 PS at 9,000 rpm and 37 Nm of torque 7,000 rpm.
Kawasaki India says that, "The motorcycle is developed for riders who are in search of bikes that are not only rich in history and character, but also packed with modern technology and handling features".
Talking about the specifications of the bike, it comes with a double-cradle frame design, assist and slipper clutch, and a retro style instrument panel. The instrument panel includes two analog dials of speedometer and tachometer and also comes with a multifunctional LCD screen. A twin exhaust system has also been provided.
The clutch and brake lever can be adjusted in 4 and 5 different ways respectively.
The Kawasaki W800 STREET features a 320mm front disc and 270mm rear disc. It will be available only in two colour: Metallic Flat spark black/Metallic Matte graphite grey.
Other options available in the market include classics like Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 and Royal Enfield Classic 500. Kawasaki also brings Z900 RS that can be another (costlier) option for the consumers.
