2020 US presidential race: Who is Kamala Harris?
The 54-year-old has chosen the same path as Obama in approaching the first month of votes, but will she face the same victory Obama did in Iowa and replicate the success during the presidential elections?
Kamala Harris is the first woman of colour to become district attorney general for California and second African-American woman to be elected to the US Senate.
She entered the Democratic presidential race on January 21, 2019.
What does this mean for her future?
Unlike most Democrats whose campaigns were focused on economic policy, Harris’s signature proposal called LIFT the Middle Class Act is focused on providing lower-income families with monthly cash payments of up to $500.
