Hackers gift BJP a beef recipe the day PM Modi takes oath
The website was hacked to show tabs like About Beef, Beef Items (dishes menu), and Beef Leadership, etc.
BJP and beef have some weird connection. The controversy over the beef ban and cow vigilantism mired the first tenure of the Narendra Modi government. Now, the day he took oath for his second term, hackers defaced BJP Delhi's website with beef recipe.
The website was hacked to show tabs like About Beef, Beef Items (dishes menu), Beef Leadership, etc. The home page had a picture of beef dishes in the center and "Shadow V1P3R" claimed the credit for hacking the website.
Facing embarrassment, BJP swooped into action and directed the traffic to its national website but the time taken to damage control was enough for Twitter to poke fun at the ruling party.
Couldn't get any more fun than this for Tamil Twitter! After #Pray_for_Neasamani, now #BJP website gets hacked and left with beef recipes again..— Sukshma Ramakrishnan (@sukshmablaze37) May 30, 2019
Now restored, but cache URLs still show beef recipes..
What happens when you don't #Pray_for_Nesamani ? ???????????????? pic.twitter.com/GV4URsUYza

There's a recipe for beef fry up on the BJP Delhi's website right now. Actually looks pretty good. https://t.co/KcqCLolGVa— Harry Stevens (@Harry_Stevens) May 30, 2019
Hackers have targeted BJP's many times. In March this year, BJP's national website was hacked and it took party weeks to restore it. Hackers had then posted a meme of PM Modi with Germany's Chancellor Angela Merkel.
Maybe, the party needs a better chowkidar for its website.
