On the day of the Avengers: Endgame release, Google pulled up a neat trick along with Thanos. Here's what happened when Google and Thanos got together.
How can Google stay away from the Endgame frenzy while thousands of people are hitting the theatres to catch the first day’s show?
In what can be seen as a unique and interesting strategy, when someone does a Google search for Thanos and clicks on the infinity stone-studded gauntlet, you will see the search results for the keyword begin to wipe out with the ‘snap of a finger’. The gauntlet appears on the extreme top right corner.
Even the search results counter goes down and spans the entire page and moves back up.
To reverse the effect, users just have to click on the gauntlet's icon again. Google also displays a reduction in the number of search results from around 87 million to 43 million.
Fans of the MCU world clearly cannot control their excitement with this feature setting the mood for the Endgame day. Twitterati have been spreading the word about this feature.
Earlier, a four-minute video full of massive spoilers for Avengers: Endgame was doing the rounds on Instagram, Reddit, and Twitter. Following this, the directors Joe and Anthony Russo put out an open letter telling everyone #Dontspoiltheendgame.
