Four Out Of 10 CBSE XII Students Have Scored 90% And Above
Thirteen out of 23 students claiming the top 3 CBSE class XII rankings are from Uttar Pradesh.
The Central Board for Secondary Education (CBSE) have declared their results for class XII, and guess what, 36.3 per cent students—94,299 of the total 25.9 lakh students who appeared—have scored 90 per cent and above.
Also, 6.8 per cent (17,693) of them scored 95 per cent and above!
And just like that, girls have once again trumped boys with a clear 9 per cent difference in their passing percentage. About 88.70 per cent of girls passed, followed by transgenders at 83.3 per cent and boys at 79.4 per cent.
The overall pass percentage of the country stood at 83.4 per cent, an increase of 0.39 per cent from the last year. Trivandrum topped the region with 98.2 per cent of pass percentage, followed by Chennai (93.93 per cent) and Delhi (91.87 per cent).
More than 12 lakh students appeared for the Class 12 examinations—an increase of about one lakh from the last year—from 12,441 schools spread over 4,627 exam centres.
Kendriya Vidyalaya schools had the best pass percentage with 98.54 per cent. They were followed by Tibetan schools at 96 per cent, government-aided schools at 88.49 per cent and private schools, who were the lowest of the lot at 82.59 per cent.
Hansika Shukla and Karishma Arora are joint toppers for the CBSE exams with 499 out of 500 marks. Both of them are from Uttar Pradesh. In fact, 13 out of 23 students holding the top 3 spots are from UP.
Interestingly, more than a lakh students were missing from the CBSE class XII exam. A total of 26.2 lakh students registered for the exam, but only 25.9 lakh of them actually appeared for them.
