Ford Mustang is now 'Mach-E' electric and other options
The electric SUV beats many of its own fuel version Mustang variants by reaching up to 60 km in 3 seconds.
Ford has officially launched the electric version of its muscular sportscar Mustang. The car has a range of around 480 Kms and is called 'Mach-E'. The SUV will be available in five variants with different price tags and features. These variants are Select, Premium trim, First Edition, California Route 1 and a GT Performance.
Talking about the performance, the SUV beats many of its own fuel version Mustang variants by reaching up to 60 km in around 3 seconds. The electric SUV delivers 342 KW (459 horsepower) and 830 Nm (612 pound-feet) of torque. The cheapest Mustang Mach-E starts at $43,895. The Mustang Mach-E Select has a range of around 370 km and can reach up 60 km/h in mid 5 seconds.
The top variant GT Performance is priced at $60,500 and produces 459 HP. Detailed specifications of other variants can be found here. The Mustang Mach-E was first showcased at the North American International Auto Show in Jan 2018.
Ford will provide a home charger that can plug into 120v or 240v outlets. Different variants will be delivered in the coming years. Three driving modes on the SUV includes Whisper, Engage and Unbridled. ‘Whisper’ is turned on for comfortable rides and ‘Engage’ provides a balanced ride that is middle-of-the-road mode. If the driver is looking for performance, the 'Unbridled' mode can provide amped drive.
All these driving modes also change specific steering controls and cause different ambient lighting and sound inside the SUV.
The Old Mustang:
Ford Mustang is known for its power and looks. The most powerful variant of the car, the Shelby GT500 churns out around 700 HP and around 845 Nm of torque. The least powerful version Mustang EcoBoost coasts in at 310 HP and around 470 Nm torque.

Whether it is Audi, Mercedes-Benz, or Jaguar, all top auto manufacturers are introducing electric vehicles. But let’s focus on Tesla and Lamborghini here. Tesla's top variant Roadster can go up to 60 kmph in 1.9 seconds and has a range of 1000 kms.
Lamborghini Urus is the first electric SUV by Lamborghini, It produces 850 Nm of torque and around 640 HP of power. Its 4,000 cc engine can go from 0 to 100 in 3.6 seconds.
