While the term hip hop is often used to refer exclusively to hip hop music or rapping, most people don't understand that hip hop is characterized by four major elements, rapping or MCing, DJing, Breakdancing and graffiti.
Since its inception in the mid 1970s, hip-hop has been a movement to spread knowledge and awareness in the community. In India's largest slum Dharavi, an NGO is using hip-hop elements to bring about a social change. Watch the full documentary below
