Delhi Exit Polls 2020: AAP Set To Return With A Thumping Majority
Voting for the crucial Delhi elections is concluding now, and all eyes are on the exit poll results, announced by various news organisations across the country. Here are the predictions of who willl hold power in the Delhi Assembly.
Delhi recorded a voter turnout of 61.5 per cent. There was a rise in the voting percentage after initial sluggishness, especially in morning hours. The votes will be counted on February 11, 2020, and only then will we know for sure who has won the battle for Delhi.
The first big question is, will AAP retain control of the national capital, or could BJP have made a comeback? Is Congress still relevant? Until we know for sure, news organisations across the country are giving predictions from collated exit polls across the Delhi constituencies.
An election exit poll is a poll of voters taken immediately after they have exited the polling stations. Unlike an opinion poll, which asks for whom the voter plans to vote, or some similar formulation, an exit poll asks for whom the voter actually voted.
For the 2015 Assembly elections in Delhi, seven major surveys had predicted the exit polls: India TV-C Voter, India Today-Cicero, ABP-Nielsen, Today's Chanakya, Axis, News Nation, Data Mineria. Of the seven, six but one predicted a majority for the AAP.
The exit polls results had correctly predicted that the Congress would not open its accounts.
In 2020, predictions of poll of polls show that Arvind Kejriwal's AAP is set to return to power with a thumping majority. However, the BJP is likely to improve its numbers. And the exit polls have predcited that the Congress might open its tally in this Delhi assembly election.
