The military cap was worn by the players during the match between India and Australia in Ranchi.
On March 8, India played an ODI match with Australia in Ranchi. This was the third match in the five match ODI bilateral series being played by the two sides. Despite a century by captain Virat Kohli, Australia managed to win the match. India won the first two ODIs and currently leads the series. However, a controversy broke out about the match that had nothing to do with cricket. The Indian team wore military caps in honour of those killed in the suicide bombing of a CRPF convoy in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pulwama.
To understand why there is a controversy about this, Asiaville spoke to Novy Kapadia, sports commentator and writer.
