As the coronavirus pandemic continues to wreak havoc across the world with nearly 9,000 deaths and over 200,000 confirmed cases, social distancing seems to be the need of the hour. Health officials are asking people to stay away from each other and avoid large gatherings in order to stem the spread of Covid-19. The deadly virus has spread to 164 nations, triggering emergency lockdowns and injections of cash unseen since World War Two.
Most of the countries have imposed travel restrictions, closed schools and other public places like restaurants and bars to contain transmission. But social distancing comes at a significant economic cost, say experts.
