CISF asked not to use slingshot at monkeys in Taj Mahal
Even though numerous complaints against simian menace were registered by tourists, animal rights activists found the solution cruel.
The plan by the CISF (Central Industrial Security Force) to use slingshots to curb the menace of monkeys in Agra has hit a dead end. Since Hinduism associates monkeys with Lord Hanuman, this was considered to be the least offensive method. But animal rights activists protested its brutality, leaving the administration confused as to how to handle the barrage of animal attacks cases that are reported, particularly on tourists.
