Photographer Sreeranj Sreedhar captures oddities from the streets of UAE
Arabian Oddities is a showcase of images captured in the UAE, the place I worked and lived for 29 years. Having practised street photography since 2011, the images captured here are the unusual surprises that I have come across during my wanderings, mostly in Dubai, Abu Dhabi, and the Northern Emirates.
Sreeranj is a street and documentary photographer from Kerala, India. Having worked in Dubai for 29 years, Sreeranj has now retired from corporate life and is pursuing full-time photography in India.
Sreeranj started serious photography in the year 2011 and got interested in capturing the unusual moments of daily life, as well as documenting the culture and festivals around the world. He does not have any formal education in photography but has attended masterclass workshops conducted by Magnum, and from other masters in this art to finetune his skills and knowledge. He also conducts photo walks and workshops on street photography and has a mentorship program for beginner level photographers. He is a member of the Indian Street Photography Collective, In-Street Collective, and is the admin and curator for various photography groups from India and Dubai.
His works have been exhibited at local and international venues and published in many international magazines. He has also received many awards in this short span of time.
