2020 Olympics: What to look for?
From Marathon to BMX Racing, and five newly added sports items, the new Summer Olympics will start at Tokyo on 24th July 2020.
The 2020 Summer Olympics is to start from 24th July 2020 in Tokyo’s Heritage zone and Bay Zone and end on the 9th of August. Over 6,00,000 visitors are expected to flood the city with all enthusiasm and excitement.
Some events like soccer and baseball will be organised outside Tokyo at Sapporo Dome and Fukushima in Japan.
What’s new about this Olympics?
There are 5 new sports that are added to the existing list of events, they are Skateboarding, Baseball & Softball, Karate, Surfing and Sports climbing.
Cutting edge technology in the field of Robotics, ‘self-driven cars and drones can be witnessed in Tokyo 2020, sustainability and innovation have been at the heart of Tokyo 2020’.
Solid infrastructure, their design at the Ariake gymnastic centre is ‘inspired by the theme--wooden vessels in the bay, with Japanese cedar being utilised in the construction of the roof, main auditorium, exterior, and the spectator's benches’.
